This means that you will need to have a fish-free tank in the beginning as you begin to set up the water for the fish and other aquatic life forms. Make sure you have the right size of aquarium for your intended number or fish. The basic rule among aquarium hobbyists is 1 inch of fish for every gallon capacity of your tank.
